Dr. Soe Soe Win is a board-certified Infectious Disease physician and founder of Win Specialty Care, an infectious disease practice serving Bakersfield, Kern County, and California’s Central Valley.
Dr. Win earned her medical degree from Institute of Medicine I in Myanmar. She completed her Internal Medicine residency through the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai at Elmhurst Hospital Center and later completed her Infectious Disease fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Win brings more than a decade of infectious disease experience with Kaiser Permanente in Kern County, where she cared for patients with a wide range of infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has also held physician leadership roles in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control and has worked collaboratively with hospitals and healthcare teams throughout the community.
With extensive experience caring for patients with complex infectious diseases, Dr. Win has particular expertise in Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis), an infection of special importance in Kern County and throughout California’s Central Valley. She evaluates and manages patients across the spectrum of Valley Fever, from pulmonary infection to complicated and disseminated disease.
Her clinical interests also include HIV medicine and prevention, hepatitis B and C, recurrent and difficult-to-treat infections, bone and joint infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, postoperative infections, infections involving implanted hardware, antimicrobial management, outpatient intravenous antibiotic therapy, and tropical and travel-related infections. She has participated in clinical research, professional presentations, and educational activities related to infectious diseases and coccidioidomycosis.
Dr. Win is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (FIDSA) and holds the AAHIVS credential from the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She also earned a Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (DTM&H) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the USC Marshall School of Business.
She founded Win Specialty Care to provide personalized, evidence-based infectious disease care while maintaining close communication with patients, referring physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals in the community.
Education is also an important part of her work. Through Win Specialty Care, Dr. Win hopes to improve awareness and understanding of infectious diseases—particularly Valley Fever—among patients, healthcare professionals, and communities throughout California and beyond.
